On May 17, 2018, Center Director, John Kincaid, testified on H. R. 534 before the bipartisan Speaker’s Task Force on Intergovernmental Affairs, U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, DC. H.R. 534 “The Restore the Partnership Act” would re-establish an entity modelled after the U.S. Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, which operated from 1959 to 1996. The Speaker’s Task Force was created in May 2017 by Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to address ways to improve intergovernmental relations.
