The Meyner Center's Local Government Internship Program has connected Lafayette students with Pennsylvania municipalities for ten years.
Our role is to serve as the conduit between students ready to learn and communities with real work to be done. Of all the levels of government, local is the most immediate: the place where policy becomes pavement, where planning shapes a neighborhood, where a student can observe, contribute, and actually see the results. Meaningful work and meaningful change are reality in local government. The opportunities listed here are an invitation into that work.

The Meyner Center encourages students across all academic disciplines to engage in civic and public service. We often collaborate with the Gateway Career Center and the Landis Center for create experiential opportunities through local government.
